Call to Worship: Psalm 119:57-64

Invocation

Hymns:

#94 - How Firm a Foundation (Tune)

#255 - O Jesus, We Adore Thee (Tune)

Confession of Sin and Assurance of Forgiveness:

O Father, we are gathered before you, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, whose chosen dwelling place is with the broken and contrite, to confess that we have sinned in thought and word and deed; we have not loved you with all our heart and soul, we have not loved you with all our mind and strength; we have not even loved our neighbor as ourselves. In your mercy, deepen our sorrow for the wrong we have done and for the good we have left undone, so that we may hate our sin with a holy hatred. But, please Father, do not leave us in sorrow. With you, O Lord, there is forgiveness. In your mercy, restore the joy of our salvation; so that we may love you with a holy love. Amen

Hymns:

Blest Be Your Name

Verse 1 - Since we have been born to the family of God

We have a new hope and we spread it abroad.

And we’ve become heirs to all God has made.

It never will rust, or wither, or fade.

It’s kept in heaven reserved there for you,

Kept by God’s power till life here is through.

Chorus - Blest be your name; all worship to you.

You are the King; there is no one like you.

You sit on the throne in glory alone.

You reign in righteousness.

You’re clothed in holiness and blest be your name.

Verse 2 - In this we rejoice, and great is our praise,

Though now for a while, we’re tempted in ways.

Like gold it is tested, by fire purified.

So also our faith, till we stand by his side.

Though we’ve not seen him, by faith we still love.

Unspeakable joy till he greets us above.

Chorus

Affirmation of Faith: Baptist Faith and Message 2000: Article 1 - The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
